It’s a very exciting time in the United Kingdom at the moment. We have the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee (she’s been Queen for 60 years), the London 2012 Olympic Games and the Euro 2012 football championships to look forward to! Our topic this term is the Royal Family, to coincide with Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee. This week we are writing a biography (life story) of one of the most famous members of the Royal Family from recent times – Princess Diana.

On Friday year 6 are having their own Greek party to celebrate what has been a fantastic topic for us this half term. They are going to use Google Docs to create their own shared quiz for parents and carers who visit us this afternoon. The link to the quiz is:

Thursday 15th March – 6 children took part in a cross country championship at Blakelaw representing Hilton Primary School.

I felt nervous at the start of the race but when the race started I wasn’t so nervous. I came 83rd in the race out of 16o children.

I was tired at the end of the race but I did well and the others did as well Kieran Patterson came 10th Dean Bell came 77th Scott Alison came 154th.

We all done well at the cross country we had A gret time.

On Friday 9th March we visited the Real Radio studios in Gateshead. We were given a full tour of Real Radio by the breakfast show presenters Gary and Lisa. We even helped them record a podcast that appeared on the Real Radio website!
